Baja Life is a glossy, coffee-table magazine devoted to promoting tourism, education and protection of the environment and earth-kind economic development on the Baja peninsula. Contributors should have a strong basic understanding of their subject matter.
Subjects of interest include Recreational Activities, Marine and Desert Ecology, Tourist Interests, The Native People of Baja, Environmental Issues, Historical Figures and Events, Retirement and Living, Cultural and Tradition, Arts and Music and Business and Resort Development.
Both a double-spaced hard copy and an electronic file of the article should be submitted. If forwarding by Email, remove double spacing and place the file in a 10-point font ASCII format). Double space only between paragraphs and use a tab. Do not use ### at all. Use -30- at the end of text. Send as a text file, not a binary file.
Be sure to include your full name, address, phone number and social security number. If you wish to have your materials returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Acceptable Computer Formats:
PC or Mac formatted. Acceptable formats include MS Word and WordPerfect.
Terms:
Payment is made upon publication. Since all payment requests are submitted monthly to our Accounts Payable Department, delivery of payment may take up to 30 days from the date of publication.
Feature Articles:
Payment for feature articles of 2,000 words plus are paid at a rate of $.10 per word. The author is expected to provide accurate, researched facts and correct spellings of all proper names. Spanish words must include appropriate punctuation.
Columns and Travel Reports:
Columns and travel reports of 600 to 1,000 words are paid at a rate of $.10 per word. Writers are expected to deliver an unbiased, accurate description of the resort or location. Instructional columns and technical subjects should be written for the average reader.
